Ariundle Centre, Strontian

WEEKEND MEET REPORT  STRONTIAN  APRIL 19  TO 22  2013

The Ariundle  Centre bunkhouse was the base for this meet with 13  staying here 

and 2 in a nearby guesthouse.This is an excellent location with many nearby Corbetts

and a few Munros a bit further away.

On Saturday morning the weather was dry, but cloudy on most of the summits with quite 

strong winds.

Steve and Alastair added to there Munro total by going  round to Gulvain where they met  a final Munro party of a Perth club member.

A group of four Doreen ,George, Alan and Patrick  went up Ben Resipole.

Adrian ,Bryan and Gillan went up Garbh Bheinn of Ardgour.

Both these groups encountered strong buffeting winds.

Andy and Kevin went  to Kingairloch to do the Fuar Bheinn and Cruach Bheinn horseshoe,a tough day with a lot of ups and downs.

Gail and Maggie had a similar tough day by doing Carn na Nathrach and Sgurr Dhomhnuill.

On Sunday morning the heavy rain arrived and still windy,with snow higher up.

Kevin went to the nearby Corbett of Beinn na h Uamha.

Carn na Nathrach was visited again by Doreen ,George, Alan and Patrick.

Two groups went a bit further away.

Gail, Maggie and Bryan went to Glenfinnan to do BenOdhar  Bheag while Andy

Steve and Alastair went to Kilfinnan to do the Loch Lochy Munros Sron a Choire Garbh

and Meal na Teanga.

Both of these groups encountered difficulties due to the return of winter conditions.

Adrian and Gillian  went to Sanna bay in Ardnamurchan and visited the Great Euerite 

A volcanic crater of Gabbro rock.

Another enjoyable and successful weekend.
