Outdoor sports in wild areas are becoming increasingly popular. The associated increase in numbers of visitors makes it more important than ever to understand how our sports impact on our mountains. What can we do to manage this impact and care for our mountains for the future?

Madeleine's talk will be followed by a discussion which may include the following points:

• Given the number of people enjoying the mountains should we reconsider open access in order to limit damage to our mountains?
• Who is responsible for the damage caused by outdoor sports? Should we as recreational users of the countryside bear some of the cost?
• What more can we, the Grampian Club, do to care for our Mountains?
